Trimble announces the next generation of the Trimble^® Juno^® series—the Trimble Juno 3B and 3D GPS handhelds for GIS applications.

With the Trimble Juno series handhelds, mobile workforces are empowered with a fully integrated, GPS-based data collection system for everyday field work. Rugged for tough outdoor conditions: Designed with outdoor operation in mind, the new Trimble Juno series handheld works in a variety of harsh environments with its IP54 rating; no more OtterBox! It has an improved sunlight-optimized screen that maintains exceptional clarity in all outdoor conditions, including direct sunlight. Text is crisp and easy to read. Background maps and photos are rich and vibrant.

Feature packed, fully integrated, affordable: Field workers can collect GPS data, capture and link photos to features, and send and receive data from the field using a single device. Combining the benefits of a GPS device, camera, PDA, and cellphone, this pocket-sized device provides work teams with a range of tools in a single compact package, so there are fewer batteries to charge and fewer devices to manage.

Cellular data and voice capability: With 3.75G cellular capability, field workers can keep in contact with the office, receive work orders, and send real-time field conditions. High transfer speeds mean less time spent waiting for downloads, and users benefit from having the most current data and improved collaboration between field and office.

High-sensitivity GPS receiver: For standard positioning applications such as navigation, the high-sensitivity receiver delivers optimal yield to get positions fast in the harshest conditions. Field workers are not restricted where they can perform work—next to buildings, or under tree cover. They will quickly get a position to begin data collection tasks.

5 megapixel autofocus camera with flash: High resolution camera with geotagging as standard enables field workers to capture field images as part of their workflow. In addition, field to office collaboration is dramatically improved because photos can be sent from the field for review back in the office.
